Our Congregation

Temple Beth Torah was founded in 1951. The temple has an active alumni group for long-time temple members.

Location
Temple Beth Torah is located in the San Fernando Valley outside of Los Angeles, California in the city of Granada Hills. Our membership is drawn primarily from the communities of Mission Hills, North Hills, Granada Hills, Northridge, Porter Ranch, and Chatsworth.

Our congregation shares a facility with the St. Andrew and St. Charles Episcopal congregation in Granada Hills. This facility is adjacent to the North Valley Jewish Community Center on Rinaldi Blvd between Hayvenhurst and Balboa Blvds. It is about two miles west of the San Diego Freeway (I-405).

Size
We are a small congregation, with less than 100 member families. The age of members is distributed across the spectrum: both young and old are active congregants. It is not unusual to see three generations of the same family at congregational events.

Our size may be contrasted with other valley Reform congregations, which have grown quite large. We pride ourselves in being a family and hamish. We get to know everyone and care about each other. You won't get lost here.
