Sisterhood

    Sisterhood Representative: Janet Lipkin

Sisterhood Dues:

  • Temple Members: $18/year
  • Non Members: $20/year

Sisterhood is the component of Temple Beth Torah that is responsible for hosting Oneg Shabbats, providing support to the congregation through sale of Scrip and Entertainment Books, and for providing a source for friendship and fellowship between the female membership of the congregation. Sisterhood meetings are the third Wednesday of each month. New members are given a one year free membership in Sisterhood.

Every Friday night, the members of sisterhood serve at the Oneg Shabbat. Please join us. You will earn donor credit. We need people to either bake or serve.

Recently, we held a meeting at Alice Gottlieb's new home and hung her mezuzah.

Past Sisterhood activities have included:

  • High Tea
  • Pot Luck Dinner and White Elephant Sale
  • Donor luncheon
  • Guest Speakers
  • Fashion Show with Stein Mart
Sponsor an Oneg!
The Sisterhood will assist you in your sponsorship of an Oneg Shabbat on Friday nights in honor of a happy occasion within your family or friends. Any occasion is a good reason to celebrate: a birthday, an anniversary, a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, or any other joyful happening.

Your sponsorship and the occasion will be announced from the pulpit during services, and the invitation will be extended to the congregation to join with you in helping to celebrate your Simcha during the Oneg Shabbat.

If you would like to honor your loved ones (or yourselves), please contact the Sisterhood chair via the temple office e-mail or (818) 831-0835.
