| Congregation Beth El is governed by its Board of Directors, which consists of nineteen members who are elected in accord with the congregation’s by-laws. The board consist of the four officers (President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer), ten committee chairpersons, and five members-at-large. Terms are for two years, and half the board members are elected each year at the congregation’s annual meeting, which occurs in late Spring.
Nominations for board members may come from the Nominating Committee, which is appointed by the President, or from any congregation member. Anyone wishing to be nominated should contact the President, or submit their nomination to the President in advance of the annual meeting and in accord with the by-laws. All congregation members are urged to volunteer to serve on the board. It is an enriching, educational, and satisfying way to make a real contribution to Judaism; a great way to get to know more about your religion and your congregation; and a source of lasting friendships. |
