Known for her large abstract
paintings on canvas, Ms. Cukier will
show on this occasion her smaller,
delicate and evocative landscapes.
These paintings are influenced by
the different moods and spiritual
qualities of light. She works
outdoors and finishes them in one
session, never re-touching them in
the studio.
Looking at these paintings, it’s
easy to understand her observation:
“I deeply admire the exquisite
rendering of nature in traditional
Chinese and Japanese brushwork and
strive to achieve that level of
beauty and simplicity.”
Ms. Cukier’s work is in the
permanent collection of The Godwin
Ternbach Museum, The Argentine
Consulate in New York City as well
as in private collections in the
United States, France, Japan,
Argentina and the United Kingdom.
Born and raised in Buenos Aires,
Argentina, Ms. Cukier immigrated to
New York City in 1998."
The Andrea Cukier exhibit will be in
our Gold Wing Gallery for the months
of November and December, 2008.
