Welcome from Sara Eiser
Cantorial Soloist

Sara EiserHello!
I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, just a few miles from the campus of Hebrew Union College. I left Cincinnati to go to college at Elizabethtown College, where I began my search for a Jewish community where I could pursue my studies for conversion. While at Elizabethtown, I studied music with a concentration in vocal performance and conducting, and spent my elective credits on music education and comparative religion courses. I was the student director of Elizabethtown's band and orchestra, as well as the director of the co-ed a capella group on campus, and I moonlighted as the choir director of the Annville Church of the Brethren in Annville, PA. After graduation, I married my accompanist, Keith, and we moved to Lancaster City.
When I found Shaarai, I knew I had found my congregational fit. Rabbi Paskoff spoke to me of the involved congregation members, the active religious school, and the music program everyone was so proud of. In taking the cantorial soloist position, I'm excited to be a part of the continuing legacy of educational and musical excellence at Shaarai. It is a congregation in which I will be proud to raise my children someday, and I'm happy to be able to give back to Shaarai by doing what I love.
Feel free to contact me about any and all things musical! You can reach me at the Temple at 397-5575 or by e-mail at seiser@shaarai.org.

Shalom!
